Our Heritage

From Bulldog Beer
to Your Weekend Away

"Authorities in 1885 lauded the beer's quality, as it garnered significant demand from hotelkeepers in the Clarence and Richmond regions, with substantial quantities being shipped to Sydney."

The Clarence Brewery produced legendary local beers — Red Crab Stout, Bulldog Beer — before closing in 1902. Restored in the 1970s and recognised by the National Trust, it now welcomes guests as intimate heritage accommodation.

This accommodation was truly beautiful. It is in a great location to access the surrounding areas. It has a lot of character. The host definitely has great taste in linen and amenities — chic hotel style. She maintains the historic quality of the property beautifully. Highly recommended.

Lovely restored house. We had a great time, and the township has super breakfast venues. The host was incredibly helpful throughout our stay.

We stayed at this beautiful and charming place last weekend with friends. The decor was absolutely gorgeous and intimate. Even though we had a very wet winters weekend, our accommodation was so cozy and comfy. The perfect getaway to cook, relax, unwind and share precious memories with loved ones. Would definitely come back again!
